Council is bringing our Family-Friendly day series to Cranebrook!

Come and connect with your community, neighbours, and friends with a day of fun for everyone!

What to expect at the event?

Council Services

Library

  • Penrith City Council’s Library team are bringing all their games out to celebrate Games month!
  • Play with giant jenga, connect 4, giant snakes and ladders and other tabletop games for all to enjoy!

Playvan

  • Offering fun for children in a friendly learning environment and a great way for parents and carers to meet others from their local area

Bushcare and Biodiversity

  • Native plant giveaways provided by the Penrith Council Bush Care team. While stocks last*

Penrith Performing and Visual Arts

  • Drop in for a taste of Q Theatre's Studio Q drama workshops and make your own puppet
  • You can also have the chance to feature in their drama workshop on the stage at midday!

Sustainability

  • Share your love for trees and learn about sustainability!

Waste and Resource Management

  • Range of giveaways and information available. Build a cardboard recycling truck or bin to take home!

Ripples Lesuire Centres

  • Learn how to stay sun safe and beat the heat with the team from Ripples!

Rangers Services

  • The Ranger Services Team will be offering a range of helpful brochures and information for your furry family members, as well as answering all your responsible pet ownership questions. - Please bring your pets to be scanned and update their microchip details on the day. All pets must be kept on a leash.

Community Safety

  • In support of the annual international campaign, 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence; knitters, crocheters, beginners and all levels of skills are invited to contribute to a public art, yarn bombing installation. Pop in at any time to the yarn bombing workshop and learn from the team.

Neighbourhood Renewal

  • Write a letter to Cranebrook. Drop in to read and contribute.

Local Groups and Services

  • Learn how to make origami or a friendship bracelet with Girl Guides
  • Create a figurine with dry clay provided by the Nepean Multicultural Access.
  • Rock painting activity for all age groups provided by the Ability Hub Services team

NCNS Kooly Deadly Kids Dance Group

Kooly Deadly Kids is an Aboriginal dance group for young children led by Jessie. Join them as they take us through their different pieces and storytelling.

From a small music room to a music school with over 300 students! Alina offers classes in the Western Sydney for singing, piano, guitar musical theatre and preschool music programs. Watch and enjoy a showcase of musical talent from local students!
11:00 A Santur Performance by Mahdi
Mahdi is a young musician and student from the local area. Come and watch as he demonstrates his skill and sound of the santur!
11:15 Creative Dance Academy
Creative Dance Academy believes in teaching performance to encourage confidence, work ethic and discipline as well as being able to bring joy by doing the things you love. Watch as they showcase their range of performances!
11:45 Hands, Heart & Feet Drumming Workshop
Come and hear this workshop as it demonstrates how drumming and it’s different styles can make the rhythms of West Africa and Blue Mountains fun and accessible to all!
12:15 Boxing Class
Join in as Burbaga Burawa puts on a free boxing workshop for all to participate in! Get your blood pumping and body moving!
12:30 Q Theatre Interactive Storytime
Join Q Theatre on the stage and bring your favourite picture book to life through drama. As we read the story, participants have the chance to act out moments in front of an audience. No drama experience needed!
13:00 Kaleidoscope Kids Class
Kaleidoscope’s Kids Class ethos is kids entertaining kids. They run a local class teaching drama and musical theatre- come and see the show they’ve put together!
13:30 AvaZan Music
AvaZan Music is band of talented women showcasing their skills in performance and Persian music. Come and feel energised as they play for the crowd!

  • Where is Cranebrook Skate Park?
    • Cranebrook Skate Park and Field is on the Corner of Borrowdale Way and Hosking Street.
  • Parking
    Parking at the event site is limited. We recommend leaving to car at home. There are lots of bus stops nearby! Jump onto Trip Planner, www.transportnsw.info/trip#trip

  • FREE Event Shuttle Bus by Nanima Care
    A FREE shuttle will be running from the car park on the corner of Pendock Road and Progress Way Cranebrook, NSW 2749 to the event at Cranebrook Skate Park and Field.
    Shuttle will run every 15mins from 9:45am until 2:45pm (last bus to leave from the event at 2:45pm).
    No bookings required.

  • Can I bring my dog?
    • Dogs are welcome to attend. Although they must be on leash at all times.
  • What happens if it rains?
    • In the event of heavy rain, Council may choose to postpone or cancel. An event. Notification will be provided via Council’s social media channels.
  • Can I take photos / film at the event?
    • Yes, photos can be taken for personal use. When you capture happy snaps at our event we encourage you to use the hashtags #PCCFamilyFunDay. We’ll send you some love and reshare the best snaps on our socials.
  • What is the procedure for lost children/persons?
    • Let’s hope this doesn’t happen but if you do find a lost child or lose your child, contact the Event Information Booth immediately. The Information Booth staff will work with security and the police to reunite lost children with their parents as soon as possible.
    • Crowds are expected – we recommend you plan a meeting point with your children in case they become separated from you. There are wrist bands available at the Information Booth for you to write your contact details on and secure on your child’s wrist.
